SkillSet Success was created by Mandy Fernihough, an experienced educator with over 20 years in public education. Mandy’s career began as a classroom teacher, where she worked with elementary and middle school students. For the past five years, she has served as a school counselor, supporting students in both elementary and high school settings. Throughout her career, Mandy has seen firsthand the challenges that students face when they struggle with executive function skills—skills that are critical for academic success and personal growth.
Having worked with students who face a variety of challenges, including ADHD, anxiety, learning disabilities, low motivation, and those who have simply given up on their academic potential, Mandy understands the profound impact that weak executive function skills can have. She also knows how to help students overcome these obstacles.
Mandy's goal is simple: to teach students the executive function skills they need to be confident, organized, and successful, both in school and in life. She believes that every student has the potential to thrive when given the right tools, guidance, and support. Mandy works to create a holistic, personalized approach to help students not only improve academically but also develop the self-confidence needed to succeed long-term.
Through SkillSet Success, Mandy offers a compassionate and effective approach to helping students build the skills necessary to reach their fullest potential. Mandy earned her a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University and a Master of Education in Counseling and Development - Professional School Counseling from Lamar University.
